Timothy 2:1–4 (KJV: Public Domain)

"1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

Kings 3:7–9 (KJV: Public Domain)

Adapted from the Scriptures as a prayer (changes noted in italics):

And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant (name of Prime Minister, President, King or any other government official) (title of person) instead of (his/her predecessor's name): and he/she is but a little child and knows not how to go out or come in.
And thy servant (name of Prime Minister, President, King or any other government official) is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
Give therefore thy servant (name of Prime Minister, President, King or any other government official) an understanding heart to judge thy people, that he/she may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
And the speech pleased the Lord, that (your name) had asked this thing.
And God said unto him/her, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given (name of Prime Minister, President, King or any other government official) a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before him/her, neither after thee shall any arise like unto him/her.
